In today's show John from our affiliate show call Table Five makes an appearance on the Sports Bar. We recap the Mayweather fight and boxing in general. One problem with boxing is that a boxer who is upcoming needs to fight a big name to make a name for himself. Even if the big name is past his prime. There are many great boxers out there, that many of the casual fans have not heard of. After the May 5th, for example, many of you now heard or Conelo Alvareaz. He defeated Mosley on the undercard.

LONG BEACH FIGHT NIGHT

On May 6, 2012 we watched the Long Beach Fight Night 14. It was a great event. About 1500 fans showed up to watch a great night of MMA fighting. The first Long Beach Fight Night was held in August of 2008. It has gotten better ever since.

The Long Beach Fight Night Feature upcoming MMA fighters who have less than 7 fights. These fighters are hungry and fight with a lot passion. Some may someday become big names in the sports but success is no guarantee but one thing for sure is that all of fans in attendance were treated to great night of fighting. The winners of Sunday's great event were: Darren Smith, Melissa Steele, Greg Parker, Henry Corrales, Juan Rivas, and Cleber Luciana. In today's show the Boyz @ Table Five open up by talking about the Long Beach State Basketball team. The LB State team has one of the toughest non-conference schedules in the country. Some say they may have the toughest.

However, the main topic of today is Jeremy Lin. He is taking the NBA by storm. No one saw this coming. While stars like Carmelo and Amare was out, Lin came in brought a sense of Joy to the New York and many fans of Basketball. He didn't come from a major college and he was close to getting waived.

Many fans are wondering if Jeremy Lin is for real and what will happen when Carmelo is back. Time will tell . Unfortunately Floyd Mayweather had nothing positive to say in a Tweet that he made about Lin.
